About Linda
Linda Lawrence was born in Kansas City, MO but grew up in Southern California where she currently resides. Although she has primarily pursued a self-taught approach, Linda has taken classes from various artists through the years. One such influential figure in her artistic journey is Ilana Bloch, whom she considers a mentor and friend.
Early in her art career, Linda worked mostly in watercolor, but she has since shifted her attention to acrylics as she's developed a nature-based abstract style. By integrating collage, Linda delights in the challenge that comes from building layers of paint and torn paper.
Linda's most recent work draws inspiration from time spent lounging in her sunny garden amongst the pomegranate bushes. This ongoing series is defined by a distinct color palette and playful abstractification of this remarkable plant.
